 Are you seeking a pet friendly home that has been furnished and prepared ready for you to move into? You only need bring your clothes as everthing is supplied for a long or short stay,. We specialise in temporary homes for people requiring mid-term stays. Families whose own home is being renovated or repaired, UQ lecturers on assignment, workers based in Brisbane for an extended contract, executives on relocation.  This is a suburban environment, so is not suitable for groups seeking a party venue or holiday makers who will be keeping late hours. This boutique block of 3 totally different apartments looks more like a large home from the outside, but is actually 3 separate private abodes. Every apartment was fully renovated in early 2017. The largest has 4 spacious bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a large private outdoor area with BBQ, dining suite with grass area for your children or pets. Totally fenced and secured. There are 2 other apartments both with a queen bedroom and single bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and lounge. Apartment 2 sits high with great views from the deck, The Hacienda is our Spanish surprise. Large apartment with attached private patio, quirky outdoor bath and your own large private fully fenced grassed area, complete with dog kennel.

Do you have a larger group? Apartments 1 and 2 can be joined by a connecting, secure breezeway, offering 6 bedrooms, 2 kitchens and 4 bathrooms.

Located just 3kms (1.8mls) from the CBD this is the perfect position for guests who would like to experience suburban Brisbane living and still have ready access to the city. It is positioned close to Wesley Hospital, Lang Park (Suncorp Stadium for those under 40!) and University of Queensland.

We stayed TALLYWOOD in Auchenflower for three months, after moving to Brisbane.  And we absolutely loved it! Having moved around the globe and stayed in many different accommodations, this is the first that it felt like home – for me, two of my kids – Riccardo and Elena and our cat who also arrived from Singapore.  The homely feeling, the amazing location – convenient both for the train and amazing runs along the river- the availability of everything one needs at home – made the temporary accommodation absolutely wonderful.

Apartment Features

Apartment 1. Large family home with 4 over sized bedrooms.
The master has a queen bed, generous ensuite with hand and rain head shower and dual basins.  The second master has a queen bed and ensuite. The remaining 2 bedrooms have twin singles and a queen bed, they share the main bathroom with shower/bath, toilet and vanity. The separate dining is off the fully equipped central kitchen. This room can be a 5th bedroom if you prefer as the dining can be moved to beside the lounge and one of the king singles moved into the dining room. 3 of the bedrooms have a built in study desks.

This apartment has fully ducted zone controlled air conditioning.

Apartment 2. High set with a great balcony overlooking character houses of Auchenflower. This is where you will spend most of your time. There is a weber BBQ outdoor table for 4, (can seat 6). The laundry is to the side, with front loader washer/dryer. The living space is spacious and includes lounge, dining for 4 and a new kitchen. The air conditioner in the lounge can cool the entire apartment, including the 2 bedrooms. Master bedroom has a queen and the other is a single with a study desk. There is a beautifully renovated bathroom with generous shower, vanity and there is also a separate toilet.

Apartment 3 - The Hacienda is a gem. Quite an unexpected treasure to find this unique apartment, given the more conservative outside. The towering ceilings, solid walls, terra cotta tiles and decor have you transported to a Spanish coastal home. The indoor lounge, dining and kitchen are one space but still feel separate. The queen master bedroom with air conditioning, is off the lounge and the stairs take you to a mezzanine level with a single bedroom or office and the main bathroom.

The highlight of this apartment is undoubtedly the inviting shaded patio. The laundry is under the weber BBQ bench and the timber slatted alcove is home to the surprise outdoor claw foot bath. A great place for an evening relaxing soak, or for the kids to bath on a hot day, or perhaps to act as an esky for a few cold ones? 5 steps lead down from this patio to your private, fully fenced children's play area or dog yard - complete with kennel.

Calendars

Calendars are accurate, however it's always worth asking if your preferred property is available, as some bookings are under our Best Fit Policy. This means guests are willing to move to another home, that may even include moving to another property in our Brisbane network.

  • Apartment #1 $240/300 pn for 4 people
  • Apartment #2 $120/200 per night for 2 people

  • Pets not allowed in carpeted areas nor on furniture

    Re minimum stay for 2 weeks. This property is primarily for mid-length stays, typically 4+ weeks. 
    It is still worth asking for short stays, we will see what we can do. 

*BEST FIT POLICY: Our minimum stay is 7/14 nights, unless your booking is last minute, adjoins another reservation or fills a gap. Sometimes we can make you an offer under our Best Fit Policy.

You will be given the possible houses available for your dates and if there is any home that does not suit, let us know and we will make a decision as to whether we are in a position to make an offer. In the event your first choice home is not available and the new one offered is less expensive, you will be charged the lower rate. If the home you are offered is more expensive, you will not be charged extra for the upgrade. WIN!


 

Why Auchenflower?

Auchenflower is the perfect location for Suncorp Stadium (Lang Park) attendees, to watch visiting teams succumb to our local sporting heroes and have somewhere magical to return to relive the event. Handy base if the city, Wesley Hospital or University of Queensland are among your visit sites.

Nearby, Paddington, Rosalie and Milton boast some of the most fabulous cafes and restaurants Brisbane has to offer. Buses leave every 10 mins or so to the city and Fortitude Valley, from 300 m away. Alternatively, Auchenflower train station is a ten minute walk.

The Brisbane Botanical Gardens is only a three minute drive (2km) away, and is a stunningly beautiful location for a picnic or walk through the 56 hectares of gardens. One of the top 3 Brisbane visitor sites is just up the hill.  Mount Coot-tha offers an impressive panoramic view of Brisbane and is a great spot for a bite to eat, either at the cafe or Summit Restaurant.


Things to Know

PARKING: There is offstreet parking for 1 car for each apartment. There is ample free street parking, most spaces are shaded.

DISPOSABLES:  We supply some starter disposables as a complementary service. They include - dish detergent, tablets for dishwasher, scourer, dish cloth, sachet for washing machine, toilet paper, tea + coffee, paper towels, alfoil, cling film, vinegar + oil, salt + pepper, sugar, liquid soap, shower cap, shampoo + conditioner. If you choose to replace some of these items, or leave your excess that is appreciated. They are not renewed during your stay.

PANTRY AND ALCOHOL: Often guests leave some items that we don’t remove if we think they may be useful for the next guest, and some we have supplied. This may include some spirits or drinks. You are welcome to enjoy what is there, and if you choose to leave some of your own, thank you for that.

LINEN: The optional linen package includes  - sheets, pillow slips, bath towels, pool towels, face washers, hand towels, bathmats, tea towels. If you choose to supply your own, the pillows, pillow protectors and mattress protectors, doonas, blankets are supplied at no charge 

SERVICING: If you would like to engage our cleaners for linen change or house clean during a longer stay, please ask for a quote. If you choose to look after this yourselves, there are washing facilities, some basic cleaning products, vacuum, broom, mop, dustpan. Full laundry with front loader washer, dryer, iron and ironing board.

PETS: We have our Spice Dogs - Chilli and Basil - black and tan dachshunds and Jackie and Cam have a cat Lola, so we know that pets are people too. We can't say we are a family friendly business if you can't bring some of your family with you to stay in our homes.  We have some conditions to you bringing them, (we have some conditions for people too), and have developed quite a good "responsible pet owner radar" and apply it ruthlessly!  Sorry, but no pets in season or excessive hair shedders. Not permitted in the carpeted areas nor on furniture. Please clean up after them inside and out. We supply pet bowls as well.
