This boutique block of three distinctive apartments looks more like a large, single home from the outside. Originally built as a Queenslander-style residence, Tallywood 1 features high ceilings, VJ walls, picture rails, and spacious bedrooms, offering a classic, timeless charm. In the 1970s, two more apartments were added to the side, creating a unique and diverse property.
Tallywood 2 is a bright, open-plan apartment with 2 bedrooms and a combined lounge, dining, and kitchen area. The standout feature of this space is the elevated deck over leafy aspect, which offers sweeping views of Auchenflower and catches the cool breezes, creating a peaceful, airy atmosphere.
Tallywood 3 is an unexpected Spanish Styled gem, with a design that surprises given the more traditional exterior. Inside, the towering ceilings, solid walls, terra cotta tiles, and Mediterranean-inspired decor will transport you to a coastal home. Quirky, eclectic details add to the unique vibe of the apartment. In keeping with this theme, a clawfoot bathtub has been placed in the outdoor area, surrounded by a semi-private timber paling fence. The outdoor space also includes a small garden, dining area, and BBQ, with five steps leading down to a generous fenced pet yard. From here, you can access the plunge pool through a side gate, completing this charming, one-of-a-kind retreat.
We stayed TALLYWOOD in Auchenflower for three months, after moving to Brisbane. And we absolutely loved it! Having moved around the globe and stayed in many different accommodations, this is the first that it felt like home – for me, two of my kids – Riccardo and Elena and our cat who also arrived from Singapore. The homely feeling, the amazing location – convenient both for the train and amazing runs along the river- the availability of everything one needs at home – made the temporary accommodation absolutely wonderful.

Why Auchenflower?Located just 3kms (1.8mls) from the CBD this is the perfect position for guests who would like to experience suburban Brisbane living and still have ready access to the city. Auchenflower is the perfect location for Suncorp Stadium (Lang Park) attendees, to watch visiting teams succumb to our local sporting heroes and have somewhere magical to return to relive the event. Handy base if the city, Wesley Hospital or University of Queensland are among your visit sites. Nearby, Paddington, Rosalie and Milton boast some of the most fabulous cafes and restaurants Brisbane has to offer. Buses leave every 10 mins or so to the city and Fortitude Valley, from 300 m away. Alternatively, Auchenflower train station is a ten minute walk. The Brisbane Botanical Gardens is only a three minute drive (2km), and is a stunningly beautiful location for a picnic or walk through the 56 hectares of gardens. One of the top 3 Brisbane visitor sites is just up the hill. Mount Coot-tha offers an impressive panoramic view of Brisbane and is a great spot for a bite to eat, either at the cafe or Summit Restaurant. |
PARKING: There is offstreet parking for 1 car for each apartment. There is ample free street parking, most spaces are shaded.
DISPOSABLES: We supply a few starter disposables as a complementary service. These are not renewed during your stay.
LINEN: The linen package includes - sheets, pillow slips, bath towels, face washers, hand towels, bathmats, tea towels. If you choose to supply your own..... we will supply you with pillows, pillow/mattress protectors, doonas, blankets at no extra charge.
SERVICING: If you would like to engage our cleaners for linen change or house clean during a longer stay, please ask for a quote. All homes include washing facilities, some basic cleaning products, vacuum, broom, mop, dustpan. Full laundry with front loader washer, dryer, iron and ironing board.
PETS: We can't say we are a family friendly business if we dont include your pets. We do have conditions of course, please ask for more information. Sorry, but no pets in season or excessive hair shedders. Not permitted in the carpeted areas nor on furniture. YOU MUST CLEAN UP AFTER THEM!
