We are very much a family enterprise. Tim and I (Jennifer), both come from family operated business backgrounds and property investment. Tim was a graduate of UQ Hospitality Management and I was a registered nurse in my previous life, so we have married our service backgrounds with our love of beautiful homes to bring you Rylance Homes. Billy, the boy child (man), has come into the business full time and is now your main contact. He returned from 8 years in London, where he purchased a dual living apartment which is rented on the short term market. (Great idea!). We have our Spice Dogs - Chilli and Basil. Black and tan dachshunds, so we know that pets are people too. We can't say we are a family friendly business if you can't bring some of your family with you to stay in our homes. We have some conditions to you bringing them, (we have some conditions for people too), and have developed quite a good "responsible pet owner radar" and apply it ruthlessly! Our houses journey began with student rentals, at one point we offered 9 homes. One of our Fairfield properties got it's feet (and legs and some torso) wet in the January 2011 floods. Having missed the new semester student intake with the repairs, we decided to try the medium stay market. This home was a huge hit. So we converted all our properties to short/mid term stays. (Years before AirBnb existed). We now boast over 20 listings and are growing. We moved away from the short term stays as increasingly our regular clients include insurance companies, and those who place people needing to move out for renovations repairs etc. Relocations, work groups on assignment in Brisbane, locums, hospital related stays, superyacht crews (very clean people!) - anyone needing a more comfortable relaxed, less expensive stay for medium term, fully furnished with all utility bills included. Typically 1- 3 months. We will take shorter bookings for regular clients, to fill a gap or ones that adjoin an existing booking. Meg and Billy found and invested in Milton Mews. Jackie, Cam, Tim and Jennifer jointly operate Tallywood. The others are owned or managed by Billy and Jennifer. So here we are with several beautiful homes we want to share with you. We offer multiple living situations. From a studio for 1 person to homes with 2, 3, 4, 5, or 7 bedrooms. Our homes are really personal. Every item in every room was selected by us, (well mostly me), from 100s of locations and they are added to regularly, just like you do with your own home. I can spend hours walking around our homes in the final check for a new arrival. If you could hug a home, then that's what I do. It is really personal for me. It matters that the spoons are all soldiered up, that the paintings are straight, the power points dusted, the bulbs aren't blown, there's an extension cord with the iron, there's a power socket available for your phone at each bed. If presenting cushions was an Olympic sport, then I have earned the 5 rings tattoo! We like to close each door for your initial inspection, so you get the reward of discovering each space for yourself. What we offer is a unique opportunity to live as we do and experience Brisbane life - in Kangaroo Point, Woolloongabba, Greenslopes, Durack, Auchenflower.... and growing. Enjoy.
